Marking World Malaria Day 2025: Our Commitment to a Malaria-Free Future

On April 28, 2025, AGA Health Foundation, together with our partners, reaffirmed our commitment to achieving Zero Malaria by bringing quality healthcare directly to the doorsteps of our communities to mark World Malaria Day.

As part of the event, we provided vital education on malaria prevention, alongside FREE health screenings and treatments for all in attendance. In addition to malaria testing and treatment, participants benefitted from:

  • Eye examinations

  • Ear, nose, and throat care

  • Dental check-ups

  • Blood pressure monitoring

  • Blood glucose checks

  • Distribution of mosquito nets and repellents

  • And many other essential health services

This initiative formed part of our Health Outreach / Mini Clinic programme, under the Obuasi Mine’s Health Improvement Programme, funded by the 10-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan. This programme is designed to expand access to quality healthcare while driving improved community well-being and social development.

Our Malaria Control Programme, established in 2005, continues to achieve remarkable success, currently covering 16 districts across Ghana in the fight against malaria.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated partners — AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Malaria Control, Perenti, Quantum LC Company Limited, and the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation — for their collaboration, commitment, and shared vision towards a healthier, malaria-free future.

Together, we are making a difference. Together, we can #EndMalaria.
